Pantheon

Completed around 126 AD under Emperor Hadrian, the Pantheon is one of Rome’s best-preserved ancient monuments, world-famous for its perfectly proportioned architecture and the world's largest unreinforced concrete dome. Illuminated solely by a 30-foot central opening called the oculus, this former Roman temple turned Christian church now serves as an active place of worship and the final resting place of notable historical figures, including the Renaissance artist Raphael.
